NotyGrid: Build Multi-Panel Figures

Arrange micrographs and plots into labeled panels. Adjust spacing, cropping and output size for a consistent scientific figure in NotyGrid

Windows macOS Web

The problem it solves

Multi-panel figures quickly become inconsistent when images are cropped, spaced, and labeled separately. Microscopy panels also need image-specific calibration when scale bars are included.

Who it is for

  • Researchers assembling microscopy and chart panels for publication
  • Students preparing consistent multi-panel thesis figures
  • Laboratories standardizing labels, spacing, and output dimensions

How it works

  1. Import images or plot exports and choose a grid or flexible panel layout.
  2. Adjust crop, order, gaps, padding, labels, and image-specific scale bars.
  3. Set the final dimensions, inspect every panel at output size, and export the figure.

Output you can keep

A consistently arranged multi-panel scientific figure at the selected size, with labels and scale bars included where configured.

Limitations to check

  • Each microscopy image needs the correct calibration; one scale must not be assumed for every panel.
  • Cropping can remove context or features, so compare each panel with its source.
  • Low-resolution input cannot produce a genuinely high-resolution final panel.

Features

Panel layouts

Arrange images in grid or flexible layouts with adjustable spacing.

Labels and scale bars

Set panel labels and use image-specific scale information.

Output sizing

Choose figure dimensions and inspect the exported image.

Who Is This For?

Scientific Papers & Journal Figures

Create consistent multi-panel figures with labels and scale bars, exported at print-ready DPI.

Lab Reports & Technical Documentation

Build clear, structured grids that are easy to scan and reference in reports, SOPs, and internal docs.

Presentations & Teaching Materials

Standardize panel sizing and spacing to keep slides readable and visually balanced.

Before/After & Comparison Panels

Arrange controlled comparisons (methods, samples, magnifications) in a compact grid with consistent annotation.

Dataset Review & Annotation Workflows

Use labeled grids to review batches of images quickly and keep visual context organized.
