Choose the analysis region
Define a region of interest that represents the field you intend to measure. Exclude labels, borders and unrelated image regions before calculating coverage.
Select by intensity or color
Use grayscale thresholds when intensity separates the constituents. Use HSL ranges when color is informative. Preview the mask and adjust the selection against the original image before registering a phase.
Review phase coverage
- Inspect the preview at boundaries and low-contrast regions.
- Register and name the phase only after reviewing the selection.
- Repeat for the other constituents you need to measure.
- Inspect coverage totals and the unclassified area.
Interpret the result
Coverage describes the selected image area under your threshold settings. Report the region and segmentation choices with the percentages. Use calibration when the output needs physical area. The tool does not infer chemical phase identity from color alone.
