Start with the image scale
Confirm that the active image has the intended calibration. The scale bar should represent a real distance derived from that calibration; changing its label alone does not establish a correct scale.
Choose a readable bar
Select a length that is useful relative to the structures shown. Set the bar and label style, then place them in a clear area with sufficient contrast. Reuse a saved style when figures need consistent presentation.
Check the export
- Review the distance and unit shown on the bar.
- Inspect the bar and label at the final figure size.
- Confirm that the overlay does not cover an important feature.
- Choose an available export format and inspect the exported file.
If a format or export option is unavailable
Export formats, resolution and usage limits can depend on your plan. Use the options currently available in the export panel and check your account plan when you need a different output.
