  1. Import the UV-Vis data and confirm units and signal type.
  2. Choose the appropriate Tauc settings.
  3. Inspect and adjust the fitted region.
  4. Review the extrapolation and record the assumptions.

Prepare the selected Tauc representation and inspect the region used for extrapolation. Keep the transition assumption and fit interval visible when reviewing the estimate.

Before you accept the result

Confirm the signal conversion and transition model are appropriate for the sample. Changing the fitted interval can change the estimate, so inspect its sensitivity.
